Here is my mkI amp project... Not been tested yet, but i'm working on the bottle to do it.
I'm happy with the look... Hope it works! http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/2403/picture016va.jpg http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/2389/picture017tzv.jpg |

They are 10mm aluminium side panels, kinda hoping it will be enough. Not gonna be blasting it out.

Nice, I like it. I would just change the volume knob to a silver colored one.
It always amazes me how small amps like that have all those wires. I have yet to come up how to make my nicer inside. No matter what I try, it always is wires, wires and more wires. |

Littlerick, I don't like your toroid being so close to the volume potentiometer and input signal wires going across it. You could run into problems with transformer induced hum. I'd move the transformer in one corner where your power switch is and both amplifier boards to the other side of the box.
Other than that, pretty nice work, especially for a first project. And take it easy with the botttle

yeah, I always try to get my amps neat with all the wires, but it is not as easy as it looks lol. I guess it is not me only that has problems arranging wires. I have seen many people that use hard wires and they bend the wires neatly, but I do not like to use hard wires. I like flexible wires that way if there is vibration or movement the solder of joints do not break. But again that is just me lol.

Thanks guys... The volume knob is silver, I just need to give it a polish.
The signal wires will be attached to the bottom of amp when its finished. I will take them around the transformer. I figured I might have to move it if it gives any signal problem. Still building my bulb tester to test it properly before finalising everything. |

Looks good dude.
That knob reminds me of some 1970s common brand but I cant remeber. I almost want to say late 70s Sony. BTW. someone here needs to build a SMPS kit that works well. We have these tiny LM3886's with these huge 10lb transformers ![]() I'd actually love to build a SMPS for my next amp kit as well as a switching amplifier at one point. |
