I'm considering biamping my two channel sound system with two dual mono bridged gainclone amps (Peter Daniels kits) - Bridged LM3875 (High-Freq) and Bridged LM4780 (Bass-Freq).
Are the gains of the LM3875 & LM4780 chips closely matched for effective use in a biamp configuration? Or would I be better off using the same model chip? Would there be any real sonic advantage biamping using these gainclones when using a 6 ohm nominal impedance speaker (Living Voice)? I understand in bridge mode the load is halved but my existing bridged LM3875 amp drives these speakers nicely without breaking a sweat. BTW, the LM3875 bridged amp uses Black gate caps and LM4780 bridged amp uses Panasonic caps as designed by Peter Daniel. |

If both kits are from the same source, they have the same gain (22k/680r).
Biamping is always advantagous. How much advantage there is, depends on the speakers and the crossing frequency.
