Default Bedroom surround project.

I have decided to rework the surround system in my bedroom. I have been putting this off for a while. I have decided to go ahead now, because I have acquired a Sony Blue Ray Player with 5.1 Analog outputs on the back.

The setup as is, is pretty lame, but its only for a bedroom and I'm sure I can make a few mods to make it easier to setup and use and also get the sub to preform properly.

My victims:
1 polk audio 2.1 70w(LOL) set. Front. L/R+half of the sub.
2 polk audio 2.1 50W(" ") set. Back L/R+half of the sub.
3 Logitec 2.1 wattage unknown Center.

I haven't really looked into what the actual hardware inside the Polk sets are.
I have a feeling they are exactly the same with different power bricks. I have been inside the 70w set just to add an external jack because the original was wonky.

Right now, my plan is to see if I can access the input for the sub amps before the crossover, and if not, there is a separate pot for the sub. I could potentially tap in there. If I do that, I would assume that the sub output is full range. I would have to use a crossover. The intention is to get the two small subs into a larger sealed box with a 10" passive radiator and feed them the sub signal instead of whatever they are getting out of the front and rear channels.

For the satellites, I will re-box them as well, with matching enclosures.

I will use one of the old component cases I have laying around here for the amps and inputs.(Old VCRs are still useful...I swear.) I will probably reuse a bunch of the RCA Jacks on said VCRs.

I don't have any loudness complaints with the system as it is, but I know it can be better, starting with the power supplies. Right now they all use the standard wall transformer type. The Polk supplies are quite large actually and the voltage is the same on both but the one for the 70w says it can provide more amperage. They are probably the same too, and I doubt either of them are good for even 25w but we shall see.(lolz the supply for the 50w set is 12v 1800mA.) That's 25w on a good day.

What do You guys think? Am I crazy? I know I can make it look better. I pretty sure I can make it sound a ton better. After I get a bit more familiar with the circuitry I'll have a better idea of what changes can be made.

I guess my main concern, at this point, is the sub idea. I have never used a passive before and I'm not even sure it will do what I think it will. But PartsExpress has a 10" full chassis passive for cheap enough it got me thinking about it as a way to eliminate the horrible port chuff that the two subs have now, and get a bit more surface area moving.

I will be picking up the player on Friday. I plan to start the tear down of the sets then. I'm trying to raise the WAF on my current bedroom setup which is a bit hard for her to grasp (FFdshow up-sampling. Also, I can't play TF2 while she is watching a movie! That just wont do!). Plus, it's just ugly right now. Wires going everywhere because they aren't long enough...etc.etc.

And no. I didn't pay that for them LOL.
