Default Stereo chip amp -- 10 to 15W

Can anyone suggest a part number for a stereo amp that will deliver 10 - 15 watts (for a PC amp), commonly available.

I want to use a standard 12v 2A wall transformer and get that up to 14v or so with a bridge.

Most bang for the buck?

No class D nonsense -- good ole AB.

phillips TDA1558Q is good in term of simplicity/perfs..
the 4 amps for a stereo bridge are in one case,
and the number of external components is surprisingly low...

It works from 8V to 28V.
The maximum output @ 0.1% distortion is 3.5W into 8r0 from +24Vdc and 2.5W into 8r0 from 18Vdc.
From 14Vdc the output will be even lower.

You either need more supply voltage or a different style of amplification to get 10W to 15W into 8r0.

12V and 2A power supply means 24W available, and maximum half of it can be the output power of the amplifier (in class AB). 2x6W that is.

15W into 8r0 requires ~11Vac to the speaker.
This can only be achieved from ClassAB with a PSU of >=33Vdc.
It can be single polarity 34V or dual polarity +-17Vdc.

or single polarity +17v and a bridged amp...

for class AB, with no other mention...
anyway, to extract this power from a 14v supply,
there s no other way...
