Default What kind of buffer to se cmoy amp with bass guitar.

Hey all,

I have been lurking for a little while, but this is my first post.

I am a total newbie when it comes to electronics. I am looking to make a cmoy amp to break into a little diy audio, but I have one question. I would like to be able to use my cmoy with my bass guitar but I understand that it wont work without a buffer of some kind. As I understand it, it is an impedance issue at the front end. I am looking for my first project to be REALLY simple, so I don't want to change my cmoy around right now. However, I also have an upright bass of sorts that I am going to build soon and I am planning on putting a piezo pickup in it and making this buffer: http://www.scotthelmke.com/Mint-box-buffer.html or something similar. Would this work with my bass guitar to match the impedance enough to use the cmoy with my bass? Is there more to it than just an impedance issue?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. If there is another product/kit/plan that has really step by step instructions and pictures (like I said total newb) to accomplish this I would like to know about it too. I read some other threads on here about similar things, but I got left in the dust in all the discussion and modifications.

Thanks much.

Benj
