Been trying to find out what power the transformer is in this amp. Wondering if its possible to use it on my LM4780 dual bridged mono kit.
If anyone has any information please let me know. |

The Sony is given as 60 W into 8 Ohm and 100 W into 4 Ohm.
The LM4780 is also given with 60 W into 8 Ohm (although in my personal opinion that already means pushing it a bit), but only with 55 W into 4 Ohm. An 8 Ohm load connected to a bridged amplifier means each half of the amplifier sees a 4 Ohm load. If you mean with dual bridged a bridged-parallel configuration and you use 8 Ohm speakers, that transformer may indeed work. If dual bridged means both channels of a single LM4780 are bridged or if you use loads of less than 8 Ohm, it is probably not the right choice. All depends a lot on the heatsinking, which is the LM4780's weak point, and the way you use the amplifier, of course.
