I'll suspect Dxvideo haven't implemented the LM4780 well enough since this IC is two LM3886 chips inside. This LM4780 amp sounds quite good.

For a subwoofer,
If its 8R your idea is correct,
But if its 4R then you must use them in parallel configuration.
However in other case LM3875 is a better chipamp (not for the subwoofers)..

By the way,

Dear Parenders, have you ever compared a 4780 with a 3875 with simultaneous listenning?

Well. one LM4780 or two LM3886 ,the sound of the LM3875 is better.and in my case I have implemented them well.again this is all in taste.

Absolutely what I meant.
I have a lot of comparing implementations with these two amps. And I decided that LM4780 (or 3886) have not enough musical performance as LM3875.

I have not listened to much chipamps but I agree - 3875 is better. I certainly like it better then TDA or 3886 chipamps.

The new LM3875 in an ROHS version has been out for a few months. I agree that the LM3875 is a nice amplifier chip. The LM4780 takes up only a bit more space and is a bit fussy about its skinny pins, but it's a real work-horse.

Price out some high power MOSFETs or IGBTs. There's a reason why they're the device of choice in most inverters.
