Single secondary -- dual half wave

To get a split + and - DC, has anyone used a single secondary transformer using 2 rectifiers in a half wave configuration?

(and then fought the ripple?)


like --

xformer out > (-) diode1 (+) pos DC
(+) diode2 (-) neg DC

xformer out > ground


work alright?
