Default hmm, neat idea possibly

ok, i was thinking about this, a class G amplifer based around the gainclone and some other amp that runs with much higher rails. in any case i don't know much about class G beyond the definition, but it seems like this idea would help with these chips if they are operated near clipping.

anyone know if this is feasible or not. since i don't know much in amp design yet i'll assume there is some techinial loophole or such.

who knows, maby it'll make the mute function useful on the 86 chips...

Neat idea in theory.

However, if you study the schematics of a working Class G amp, you'll see that you need access to bits of the IC that aren't brought out of the package via the pins...

Of course, I might be wrong...

Hello theChris,

What are the status of your project?
I'm intrested too in making a class G with TDA7293 (two in paralel) but not to use the schematic from datasheet.
