Are you using the resistor?

Hi folks,
After all that's been written about GCin different incarnations, I have one question:

Are you using the resistor at the output, or some kind of zobel network or perhaps nothing?

I've built some prototipes that seem to work fine with short speaker cables, but now that I'll build a couple of clones to use as surround amps I'm not shure about stability with long speaker cables, let's say 7 or 8 meters.
What you say?

from my listening experience:
adding 0.22 Ohm resistor improve speed and dynamic,
without it, the sound became soft, maybe muddy.

I use the resistor.
It improves stability of the chip for a wider range of cables.
I don't think you need a zobel network.
The series resistor should be as close to the output pin as possive, like in any op-amp.
Yes, this is a power op-amp.

What would be the prefered ohms/watts values for the resistor?

I use 0.22 ohms, 4 watts.
4 or 5 watts is more than enough.

forgive me, but how would you go about connecting the resistor?
would it be between the +/- of the speaker outs?

It would be between output pin of a chip and a binding post in the amp.

I remember....

Several years ago I read an article in a well regarded magazine about using very low value resistors in the speaker path of certain SS amplifiers to get better sound. They were talking about values up to 1 ohm.

Any preference for type (thick film, wirewound, etc.) of resistor in this application? Mills? Caddock? other choice?
