Default FYI: Channel Island is developing a "gainclone"

I just ordered their passive preamp to try out and we got to talking (really nice guy). The monoblocks they mention on their website will be based on the 3886 chip and will probably use 35,000 mF filter capacitance per channel. I can't wait for these to come out.

Talking let's see that, bring'em all

Yes let's see the result.
In the end, it may be worst than many designs you can see in this forum...
Oh, and don't connect your passive preamp to a gainclone.

Default I don't know about that

I felt in our conversation that CI has done a really thorough, professional design program on their gainclones. They're going to be different than what's (typically) being built. So I'm sure they're meant to be used with the passive pre- since that's the only preamp they sell (quasi-active Monolithic Sound preamp notwithstanding). It's going to be more like the Nohr Le Amp than the 47 Labs, I guess you could say.
