hi guys,
im completely new to this forum, this is my first thread. a few years ago i was given a NAD 3155 stereo amplifier and it sounded wonderful. through no doubt my own fault i damaged it and now it wont power on (i think it blew when accidently not unplugging when changing speaker cables) since it blew i replaced the amp but 3 years on i am still desperate to get it working again. I opened the case up to see a fuse (t2al 250v) had blown, this was located on the board with the power switch, i replaced the fuse and powered on without the case lid and saw the fuse blow under a second after the power switch was flicked. does anyone know what may be causing this? i presume that it is either a problem with the something on the power switch board or the actual power transformer. what should i do? i do have a multimeter to test parts please help! thank you jules |

That fuse blowing means there is too much current being drawn in the amp.
Prime suspects - the output transisors, and any old electrolytic caps.... Time to go hunting ![]() Owen |
