Can someone tell me if the circuitry of the chip amps is class A or class AB. I would think it was AB. Please help me out here.
Thanks, Jeff M. |

It is AB. The heat dissipation of class A would not be manageable in a chipamp package.

I don't know any class A chip amps for that matter.

Thats what I was thinking as well, they don't make that much heat at all....not enough to be class A. I was asked specifically about it on a Gainclone I built and put up for sale on one of the many auction blocks on the web. I am still a newbee and learning alot. I have built about 10 of these things just for fun.....they started collecting in all of the shelves and closets in the house so the wife said some of them had to go. Of course by listing them on eBay and Audiogon you get questions....I just wanted to tell the guy who asked me "I don't know, I just built it from a kit!"
Thanks again! Jeff |
