Default chipamp performance....?

very quick open question.....

can a good chipamp made with good components keep up with high end consumer electronics like naim audio or arcam?

very true nuuk, i'll be using it with little monitor audio radius so power wise i think it would be ok.

Not necessarily. Smaller speakers tend to be less efficient and require more power!

is running out of excursion the same thing as running out of oomph?
They both describe the lack of output from a system that is asked to go too loud.

Even though the 50 watts or so that the Gainclone is capable of providing, even some relatively efficient speakers have revealed it's shortcomings.
Going to 80 watts or more seems in almost every case to have more ''oomph''.
There is no comparison to massive headroom and high power in amplification.......just as long as the circuit topology retains transparency and musicality.
