WM8816 based pre-amp

Hi everyone,

I am working on a pre-amp project using WM8816. Do you think is it a bit outdated since the chip is discontinued?

I have made a prototype module as shown here. A mother board will be designed on which power supplies, input relays, the module and MCU are placed. A Silabs C8051 is used to control the module and input relays.

Any ticks/tips for WM8816?

MAS6116 seems to be a 8816 clone. Have you tried this chip?

no , but wanted to try. Its a direct replacement!

shipping price is expensive at profusionplc so you might want to order a lot or make groupbuy!

I am thinking to make a group buy (PCB+8816) since can get some WM8816 from a Wolfson distributor. Anyone interest?

There is some interest here, depending on costs etc.

Actually I have a couple of these chips on hand that I was saving for just an occasion.

I plan to have WM8816 on a module as shown in post #1. MCU, regulators and others are on another board (main board). Any comment?

I will write some code in C for the C8051 MCU.
