Default My 1st GC and intial results at Bi-Amping

In my quest for musical perfection for my home theater I have built a LM3886 chipamp. It went very well and I had a blast doing it. Thanks to this forum and the help I received for the transformer problem I had. Here a my specs.

RF-62 Klipsch speakers Floor Standing
ONKYO TX-SR804 AVR 105W per ch
Dual Mono LM3886 chipamp with Avel 2x25v 250V Torroidals (that hum!

I hooked it up initially and was impressed with the sound especially the bass. Then I decided to Bi-amp my speakers using my new GC and an old 2 ch 100W ONKYO M5140 Delta amp.

I removed the straps on the speakers seperating the HF and LF. I hooked up 1 channel each from the GC to the LF jacks of each speaker and hooked up the ONKYO the same way but for the HF (Tweeters). I guess this is called Horizontal Bi-Amping. I realize this is not "true" Bi-Amping as I'm still using the speakers crossover network Next step will be an active crossover but I have no idea how to do that yet. Anyone have any ideas where to start?

Anyway it was a major improvement in my opinion. The bass was good before but now the GC is driving just the LF drivers seperately on my speakers and it's awesome, very tight. I don't know how to explain it but it seemed like the music actually slowed down and the music is very clean for the lack of better word. I think my next step will be to figure out how to make an active crossover network to tailor to my speakers..

Well thanks again for having this forum and all the help! Suggestions welcome. Here is a pic of the old TIVO enclosure I used.

As I mentioned my transformers hum so on the right side I used covers from old PC power supplies to encapsulate the 2 transformers in an effort to isolate them. Surprisingly they fit well and I used aluminum tape in an effort to seal them.
