Mounting the chip itself
yesterday I posted the results of tip-diving at the town dump. A nice plate-amp heat sink with a thermal impedance of about 0.2 C/W.
I'd like to pass along the method by which the chipamp output stages were mounted on the heatsinks -- you could do this with 4-40 or 6-32 threaded rod (but you'd have to be careful torqueing them up) :

Looks nice, and you might still be able to read the part number.
I used to try to make Belleville washers for transistors n such, but this was aluminimum, not very springy. |
