Default 250v Avel 2x25v xformer secondary hook up

hello...

nooobie here with my 1st GC from chipamp. I have (2) Avel 250v 2x25v xformers for dual mono blocks.
Here is the data sheet scroll all the way to the bottom.
http://www.partsexpress.com/pdf/avelspecs.pdf

With help from lgreen I figured out the primary hookups but after reading the manual and searching I am not confident about the secondary hook ups.

I think it should be blk/orange to one AC1 brd connection and red/yellow to AC2 with the other brd wired the same?

thanks for any suggestions

-BB

Did you ever get an answer? I'm facing the same problem. Directions to hook-up the secondarys seem to vary from source-to-source and I want to have some confidence in what I've done before I plug in my GC.

I am in the middle of working on my first GC also and I am doing the same exact dual mono set up as you. I have the same transformer only the 160V - 22V.
It should be black/red and orange/yellow to either AC1 or AC2. I don't think it matters which AC the pairs go to, but they should be those pairs.
I just fired mine up for the first time just before posting this and I got the 2 blue LED's.
To confirm this, you can use an ohm meter to check the resistance between the pairs (while not connected or powered up). Touch one probe to the black and touch each wire with the other probe until you get a reading. You should only get a reading with one other wire and that is your pair. Do the same with the other two wires and you should get a reading with those (the other pair).

Brian's instructions are a bit vague on how to hook up the secondaries. I think it assumes you have at least some knowledge of electronics.

Is there a label on the traffo showing the wiring?

It was exactly has bookasan mentioned in his post.

Should I be concerned that one amp has a DC offset of 120mv and the other has about 80mv?

Thx,

What I was thinking was if somebody posts a diagram for the connections for an Avel traffo - the next guy who wonders how to wire one up will have a reference!

120mV is a bit high. What circuit are we talking about?

Default High DC offset

I have chipamp.com LM3886 in dual mono setup with the transformers stated above.

I think it may have something to do with my Grnding. I have the SG and PG all going to the same place. This was the only way I could get rid of the "hum" through the speakers. Although I think the high offset was there during both grnd configurations. I'm gonna redo them again and see what i come up with unless you have some recommendations?

Thanks,

-BB

Hi, I'm a noobie also and was having trouble with my traffo connections with Brians chip amp. I purchased the Antek 3222 300Va with 22v secondaries. Just to clarify I bought the stereo kit and from what I understand on the secondaries one(blue) goes to AC1 and the (green) goes to AC2. From what I understand the other blue and green go parallel to ground. Is this correct and how do I know which secondaries to use? I attached a PDF for help... Thanks JohnnyP.
