Default Question

have Pair of Toshiba TC9185 , TC9177 and both are for electronic volume controller and balance .
TC9185 has the ability to drive 13 point Dot bar indicator on each channel with loudness .
does anyone have any idea on using these ICs .
have the Datasheet but need some help .
STB
OK
DATA

This IC needs digital signals to operate.

The OSC pin determines the oscillation speed and thus the clock rate on CK with which data exchange takes place. This must be set to 100 kHz with a capacitor and a resistor as per last page of the datasheet.

The CK, DATA and STB pins are for the data exchange between the ICs. CK is the clock to synchronize the data exchange. DATA is the serial 20 bit data that determines the volume setting, which is sent from the 9185 to the 9177. STB is the strobe that activates the last data set in the TC9177.

Don't worry too much about their function. Just connect them as per datasheet, but be aware that the digital 100 kHz signals may interfere with your audio circuits, so you need to design the PCB carefully. Keep analog and digital signals as far apart as possible and use appropriate shielding techniques.
