Default Best Tweak I have ever performed on Audio Sector GC3875

If your capacitors can is isolated from the inside (Blackgate Type N are like mine) then you can wrap wire on one then to the other then to your ground....

Extreme improvement in how smooth the sound is, mine also has a 1.2kohm instead of 600ohm Riken and removed input resistor but the huge affect came with this mod.

You will not get any closer to tube quality smoothness with a GC.

Shouldn't there be another 1000uF cap in that amp?

Is the power amp or the preamp/source earth grounded?

No, just neutral. I have found earth ground to be nothing but a pain in the butt in GC's.

So how does grounding the casings of the caps do anything at all?

Well these capacitors often carry a little bit of induced charge. This eliminates that first of all. Next it is affecting the electromagnetic field, causing a sort of shield if you will.

If it was on signal capacitors the removal of the charge could be good because I assume what it does is it steal a tiny bit of electron draw which would be the tops and bottoms of higher frequencies, creating a harsher sound. I based this idea on the concept of grounding speaker baskets which has that exact affect however the speaker baskets do not always charge and can take awhile to do so, making A-B comparison impossible, but this is just obvious.

There is no way to prove what it is doing unfortunately but the results are worth it, and there is no bad side affect at least with Blackgate type N capacitors because they have isolated cans. The voltage on the can may be high at times but the amperage is almost non-existent.

Try it Hell try it even without removing the plastic jacket, it might give similar results in the case of power supply caps. But I can tell you in a Audiosector amplifier with the 1000/100 STD/N cap combo the 100 N caps to the chip sound a lot better naked before this mod too.
