DIY Power Amp suggestions?

I would like to build a power amp to run my main home stereo. I will be running a preamp/tuner (Adcom or NAD) so basically it needs to be a box with gain. I am new to DIY audio (although I'm a very DIY guy) and would like some suggestions for a kit. I'll be running 2 sets of wharfedales (8.2 fronts and 9.0 rears, rears are there just for low volume play). My goal is clean, fast and tailored more for the acoustic/jazz/folk/experimental end of things.

Any suggestions?

Hi,
are all the speakers 8ohm or are some of them 4 to 8 ohm?

Using this info pick a chipamp (LM3886?) and select a transformer to suit the speaker loading.

Download the chipamp datasheet and application notes (if any). Read, read and read. Then come back with questions.

Build two 2channel amps one for the fronts and one for the rears.
Use long interconnects from the source/pre-amp to the power amps.
