It is an hybrid amplifier?

This is too funny.
There are no tubes in the Concentra, if you mean the 15pin connector and there is only one by the, and it most certainly not a tube.
the two silver boxes are transformers that create the balanced signal for the amp.

Stupid amp. Why a thousand bad sounding IC's when it's easier to make a transistor amp, or even a tube one.
Hi!
Perhaps in BG, is stupid, what about world?
That is State of the Art amplifier, very simple, sound nice!
Don't forget it is Power Amp + Pre Amp.
Design : "Nice".
Look closer to Power Amp 1pc. Aluminijum !!

What is better? Ten garages for one car each or a big garage for ten cars?aurche said:A transistor is better than an IC
An IC is a bunch of transistors in one case. A solid state amp is made of a bunch of transistors in a bunch of cases.

It is neither easier nor cheaper. And it requires some abilities. Jeff Rowland's target market has very little interest in ultimate sound quality and a lot in peer pressure, badge flashing and stunningly machined aluminium. JR amps from a decade ago were not that bad but were they more successful commercially?
Friend had one.
A friend in New Braunfels had one. He loved it! He was an equipment junkie and changed something every month.
He said the JR amp with LM3886 really surprised him. He felt it was better than most amps in the same price range. Since it was in his system, I could not compare. But his system did sound very nice with it.
The preamp/amp combo he sold after getting the JR was a 10,000.00 pair. I was surprised how much he liked it. Back then I felt that if it had chips it sounded bad. Today, I have come to realize the chips are not a limiting factor.
