It could be a certain model op amp, it could be dandy capacitor or resistor, it could be an interesting transformer, it could be PCB's with extra nice traces, and it could chassis, hardware, or interconnect. . .

And is it because:
A). It is pretty
B). It is an enhancement
C). It it both

For me, its Elna's Red Cerefine :devilr: and Nichicon's Electric Green ES :D. Sure those could be enhancements, but its probably not why I bought them at first.

I have some large 10uF Leclanché PIO-caps that I value. But due to their size (and supposed quality) I haven't used them yet.

It's the oval ones, look at the pen on the right for a comparison. They also weigh about 750g each.

The eyes have it. Since all competent electronics basically sound the same, gear that looks good with good looking components will sound better. Audiophiles only close their eyes to enjoy the sound after they have looked. Ever tasted food blindfolded? The eyes are dominant.

in these cases
the only real listeners
may be those without eyes & the blind people
Like Stevie Wonder.
But even those have the ability to IMAGINE
like John Lennon

Blind from infancy, Wonder signed with Motown Records
as a pre-adolescent at age twelve,
and continues to perform and record for the label to this day.

I have previously owned audio equipment that was unable to resolve minor differences. It was fairly impossible to replace that by shopping at a retail store. There had to be answers somewhere else, and there is. . .
A big search for answers led me here, to diyaudio.com. On that note--a BIG THANK YOU to the guys here at diyaudio.com.

Good point. Blind people should be excellent for audio evaluations.
I wonder what systems blind persons end up buying?

At least some of them would come closest to Golden Ears.
As more well trained hearings would be hard to find
... at least among us,
who are not Double-Blinded since birth.

What sound system has Stevie Wonder at home?

Yeah, I'd loke to know

Not only is he blind, but he is musical to the bone!
And rich as Rockefeller! After writing 257.5 World Hits!
- There's a Place in The Sun
- Isn't She Lovely
- I just called to say I love you
- You are the Sunshine of my life

When you are rich like this, MONEY is certainly no object,
when you buy your Sound System Gears.
Sevie Wonder could buy whatever.
Even buy up complete Nelson Pass LABS Company :D :D
It would be peanut money for Mr Wonder, if for sale.

So, anybody knows what gear he listens through?
