I play diy amp for several years, tried to build different chip amp such as 3875, 3886, 1875, 1876, now I am using 1875, the sound is good enough even using some typical components.
I still want to play other chip AMP, so, would like to discuss which chip amp is good to be build again? is there anyone have some idea on it? |

TDA2030 sounds good too. LM3866 i have perceived as almost the same sonic you have into LM4780... it seems 2 LM3866 are sharing the same capsule into the LM4780. I like the most the discrete, because i can change things inside.... not a black box encapsulated...but to bass and voices i feel those chips great! Carlos

LM3875 when used with a passive pre and LM4780 with a simple OPA2134 based active pre.
Got both bases covered.

One more vote for the little trooper, LM1875, and I'm enjoying my parallel version right now.

![]() Since LM3875 is hard to get in Jakarta, Indonesia, I'll vote for LM3876 fed by Nelson Pass B1 Buffer Preamp circuit... Me Lovin' It.. But I also fond of LM3886 punchier sound...
