So...
I'm trying to figure out how to power my monster 7.1 gainclone beast. I haven't mapped out the power (watts) per channel part out, but i was wondering..
Will a single retifier work for all 8 channels? Reason I ask is i'm trying to convert my 2 channel amp to multiple channels, and i'm not entirely sure if i should use a retifier for every 2 channels.
might sound dumb, but i'm curious.
Regards,
dan

Hi,
you can run multiple channels inside one amplifier chassis. I wouldn't.
I like the amps beside the speakers, with very short speaker cables resulting in long interconnects at line level.
Do you have a single rectifier fed by a centre tapped transformer or dual rectifiers fed from dual secondaries?

This is going to be used for movies? Depending on your standard listening volume one 500VA transformer should be good. 600VA should be more than good enough.
Build a decent dual bridge rectifier circuit with a decent 2 winding toroidal.
