Default VAM1202 out of production ?

A friend went to buy a VAM1202 for his CD67 and was told by the shop keepers that it is out of production. Is this true ?
They however had CDM12.1 , 'original' and Chinese made versions.
He bought one but it show focus error when installed. All other movements seem to be OK.
So is VAM 1202 no longer available ?
Thanks.

My friend managed to get a VAM 1202 from Singapore ( Sim Lim Tower ) , last month. We fixed it in his CD player ( CD63 ) and it works fine.

This I can confirm - also regarded the CDM12.4. "Made in Singapore" always good quality. Who knows the name of the company from Singapore, which manufactures these parts formerly for Philips and now for the replacement part marked - that is the question.

All CDM12.4 samples "Made in China" were useless for replace (without function or short life time)

In this case this tread could be of interest (post #8)
