Question How long will a LM3886 drive???

Lets say a LM3886 NIGC is used to drive a pair of long running cable to a speaker, then what's the max length before things run into trouble???

There is going to be power loss in the resistance of the conductor.
There is going to be loss of control over the cone movement.

I guess it depends on the square of the cable. The "fatter" the cable, the longer the distance.

This depends on the setup of the output circuitry on the amplifier.

If you have no Zobel network and/or no decoupling inductor, you may run into oscillation as the speaker leads get longer.

The inductor in series (often in parallel with a resistor about 10ohms) that you see in many SS amplifiers is there to decouple the speaker lead capacitance from the feedback circuit to prevent oscillation.

The Zobel network helps greatly in this respect and in some others as well.

As long as the output filter is set up properly, you can drive very long cables without any trouble. The only problem you begin to run into is power loss, but it takes extremely long cabling before that is noticeable.

Theoretically, the lengh or impedance of speaker wire should be as short as possible to prevent power loss or oscillation.
I have tried 30m before and work fine.

fit the power amp near the speaker and use long interconnects.

Default OR USE ....

100 VOLT TECHNOLOGY then ...your speakers will go kilometers away if needed
