Do you suggest to connect to a star-point GND the ground pin of the volume potentiometer or to connect it to the local ground, close to the opamp?
I think that connecting it to the star-point you may introduce some output signal into the pot.... But, if you connect it to the local ground you can get hum/Rf noise... NB: the pot is located between two opamp; it is not directly connected to the input socket...

The pot should be connected to whatever point is the ground reference for the driving and receiving opamps. You don't want it connected to any point that might have a small contaminating signal on it, or should it modulate whatever point it's connected to (ulikely if a high value) IOW, the star point is the likely candidate.
