My STK4050 amp.
This is a 200Wrms into 8Ω load.
In addiction to the original circuitry, there are DC protection ,Power on delay and power off cutoff. The sound "sounds" very good to me. I was concerned about the thermal behaviour. Just after half an hour of normal use, the heatsink was very hot (untouchable with bare hands). I've build also an inproved version with larger caps and better snubber. When testing it at full power with a dummy load, I switched the function generator in the 100KHz range blowing the chip. The result can be seen. ciao. |
