Recently bought a second hand amp, The t.amp TA-2000. One channel isn't working. A visual inspection has revealed what I believe to be a popped op-amp. It is a 14 pin socket component and the only identification on it is HEFF1. I've described it as popped or blown because there is a approx. 5 mm disc shaped chunk missing from the middle of it. Searching the net with the HEFF1 refference has proved fruitless so I would appreciate any info as I would like to get the second channel up and running.

Hhm, "HEF" sounds more like 4000 CMOS series of logic gates.

You might check if the power is applied to the chip at pins 7&14 (then it's a logic IC) or pins 4&11, then it's a quad opamp.

Probably you will need to get/buy the service manual for the amp...
