Hi,
I'm thinking of using relays to work a mute feature or speaker disconnect (no power-off noises). I'm wondering if I can make a "one round knob" setup with an SPST + stereo dual gang potentiometer? Oh, and where on earth to buy one of those things? Thanks! |

You won't have to use relays unless you want to. I eliminate the bulk and somewhat large current draw of relays by using NPN and PNP BJT transistors on the mute pins to hold the MUTE pins at 0V, thereby muting it.
I've seen the dual-gang pots with a switch on eBay, in a seller's eBay store when searching for knobs. (Asian seller). Hope this helps some. ![]() Marty |

Hi,
the volume control with ON/OFF switch used to be very common. This switch type is still available, but may be less popular and so less easy to find a stockist. Keep searching.
