What POT for Volume Control?

While I'm waiting for my GC kit from Peter Daniel I'm ordering up my other parts and I'm too lazy to dig through all the other posts.... What is the most favored pot to use for volume control?????

41 step attenuator from TKD.

well,I would suggest the nobles or the alps.right now I have a LM3875 integrated amp using the Alps 50k.before I used the Nobles once,but I compared side by side to Alps and I noticed that the nobles(has steps) when I try to get a specific volume,ether is too low or to high.I could not set it to the right volume.this is specially at low volume.but the sound quality is the same.

Is Noble pot (from the point of pin arrangement) a drop in replacement to the Alps Blue Velvet?
