Want to spend that much? Then get something with sound quality that matches the price.... http://www.aksaonline.com/buying/buying_price.html

Well, I build a Gainclone LM3875 using the best parts as I could and the result was a wonderful sound that can easily beat some amplifiers costing more than $1000 us dollars.I used Panasonic capacitors at first, but later I replaced them with "Black Gate" caps $26 US dollars each.but after the change,I noticed the big difference in sound(cleaner, faster).the "Black Gate" caps gave the big kick.so I would strongly recommend to use the best parts as possible(since these amplifier do not use so many parts).
good luck with your project!.

PS: I am more than happy with my "GAINCLONE LM3875"

You know some people spend more money modifying their minis tham a mercedes costs, but it is still a mini....

I was a little blown out of the water as my first discrete build with cheap parts, blew my gainclone with expensive parts clear out of the water....

Anyhow, not even a $5000 gc will beat one of the Aksa amps...

It might not, but a $200-300 GC could be a lot better than many other options

I recently bought a dual mono (chipamp.com) kit for $100. You will need to add in the costs of hook-up wire, enclosure, phono sockets and speaker binding posts, mains switch and a transformer (or two) depending on which configuration you go for.

It sounds very good IMHO.
