Have been unexpectedly busy, so haven't been able to post. Hope you didn't get bored waiting....
I was planning to use a Panasonic FM 820 uF 50V cap between the diode bridge and rectifier. I still haven't decided what cap to put on the output of the rectifier though.
As my power supply and amp are on two different boards, I was thinking of putting two 47 uF OS-CON units on the amp board for additional decoupling. So these units would be in addition to whatever I place on the regulator output.
I'm also trying to find some low noise regulators as an alternative to LM317/337. But everybody seems to spec noise, line and load regulation in a slightly different manner, so it's a big job.
