Default amp power advice

Hi,

I would like to have advice about the minimum power I should use to drive a pair of loudspeaker I did myself. They are made of Vifa PL18WO0908(87db) and SEAS H1149(90db).

I was thinking to try the kingrex amp. Is it enough power ?

Thanks,

Simon

Thats ok, u can drive ur spks.
The amp is expensive, n the psu is very well built
but one thing, the rated power is quite low but the THD+N is high, it is 10%.
Quote:
-Power output:
>>22W @ 4 Ω, 10% THD +N, VDD=13.5V
>>13W @ 8 Ω, 10% THD +N, VDD=13.5V
but my advice, just build a amp using LM1875(20W mono) or LM1876 (20+20W stereo), and then drive ur loudspeaker, LM1875/1876 has a very very low THD+N, it is not more that 1% in even at 25Watt!

now the decision is urs.

Can I use audiosource amp with kingrex PSU if it's well made ?

I don't really want to build my amp myself. Do you have great T-amp to suggest me ?

Thank,

Simon

ok, before buyin any amp you have to know the maximum wattage that the speaker can handle, then buy a amp of the wattage range.

if ur speaker can handle 100-120W then the Audio source amp will be perfect. n this has a built in psu, so no need to use any other one .

Ok the tweeter I'm using support max 55W so I guess this audiosource amp is perfect.

Should I use the equalizer:

and preamp:

http://www.amazon.com/AudioSource-St...073755&sr=1-39

Would this be a good system ?

Thank,

will u only drive the tweeter? no any midrange or sub/woofer?

A 50Watt amp system+equalizer that u choose, will be a simply very good audio sys.

will u use it with ur computer, DVD player or other mains-fed system. If u use it with that, u need noa any pre-amp.

If wanna use it with electric/acoustic guitar pickup, u need the preamp
.

I'm gonna drive a Vifa driver that can handle 100W and a tweeter of 50W.

I'm planning to buy a good cd player and a turntable. Does this preamp can do the job ? Should I buy this preamp with the amp ?

Thanks,

REALFLEO

in this purpose u won't need the preamp. only the amp will do the job very well.

my suggestion, ur speaker can handle 100W, tweeter can 55W. now if u buy the 50W STEREO amp, there would b a lose. as ur misrange can drive 100W, i'd suggest u to buy a 100 W tweeter, then u can buy 100W amp and u can drive the lspeaker and the tweetere with a awesome sound quality.

but if u not wanna spent any more, just keep this config, it will be veeeery fine.

n the buyin amp is ur choice. any 100 Watt Stereo amp will be very fine.
browse thru amazon or radioshack or maplin, u'll find the best amp 4 u.

Hope a happy sound life, Thankz, Paswa
