Hi when I put my head very close to the chassis, I can hear the transformer working it is a Gainclone LM3875.the transformer is Plitron #200734 300va 22 x 2 120ac.and the rectifier is a single board,(8 diodes total four for each channel)is this normal?
should I get a better transformer (Quieter)?. this is the only thing that I am worried about.I do not hear nothing from speaker(noise) it is jut from transformer. thank you. |

A transformer does hum, some more, some less. If it's not annoying I can't see the problem.

If it bothers you, you can try mounting the transformer on a foam pad and put another one on top between the trafo and the metal disk that clamps it down. That may help.

Thank you guys for suggestions.and as you said "peranders" it is not so bad at all.the noise is when I put my ears on top of transformer.so I will leave it like it is.and beside the two channels are noise free.I do not hear any noise except clear music.thank you guys.
