Question LM3876TF based sony amp, bridging ?

Hello

I am new to the DIY amp arena...

I am sitting here with a Sony CD/Receiver module...opened it up and I find that the amp consists of two LM3876TF chips...searched online and they are rated at 56W @ 8ohms

However my amp is rated at 2x25W???...it is even fan cooled..

My question is...can I somehow bridge the two modules together to make it a mono amp with greater output?

Thanks

The max power depends not only on the chip but on the power supply as well. The transformer/caps may simply not be rated for higher power.

Very easy to bridge with the help of a single inverting opamp stage.

Ah OK....

opamp stage...can you elaborate more on how this would be done?
