Newbie here- about to buy GC kit... (have COMBED this board for info)
I have a 300Va toroid from an old outboard Velodyne power amp. There are 4 pairs of leads + the sleeved primaries. -2x20V and 2x24V My question is: how do I connect these to a kit PS? Should I leave any unused, etc. Thanks! P.S. I'll be bi-amping with the GC, a pair of current hungry ATC 4ohm.

Hi,
are the secondary wires identical? It will give a clue on the VA of each winding.

Here's what I was told by Toroid Inc. (maker):
Orange/Red= 23.7V Red/Grey= 20.4V Gray/Orange= 20.4V Orange/Yellow= 23.7V "309 Va, grays are center tap/become ground" Thanks Andrew!

Hi,
that's only the voltage info. You need VA and/or current to determine the correct wiring up. are the 20V & 23V separate windings or tappings off the same winding?

please confirm if this is correct:
four separate windings all rated at 3.5A, using the same wire for each.

the 20Vac will give about +-29Vdc
24Vac about +-35Vdc. The higher voltage will suit the less sensitive driver. Running separate windings requires dual rectifiers on each amplifier supply if you want to arrange a star audio ground for each.

Thanks again (newbie overflow of gratitude).
I was planning on running the standard chipamp stereo kit. With this setup can I just use the 2x24Vac windings and insulate off the other 2?
