I bought one these amplifiers from ebay to assist a couple of speakers in my car. The manufacture has exaggerated a bit when it comes to performance, but the chip inside (TA8210AH) is rated at 2x22w using 12volts and the amplifier can handle high and low input feeds. There is even a volume control.
As you can see from the listing the price including postage can be quite reasonable.
