I don;t have much room in my apillar of my BMW only about 25mm deep. Is there anything out there in a ribbon that is that shallow?

Does it have to be a flush mounted tweeter? A surface mounted tweeter would look just as nice and opens up a massive array of options.

It is possible to remove the big plastic face plate which leaves you with a small ribbon tweeter that is very shallow.

IMO an automobile interior is the wrong environment for a delicate ribbon tweeter. Remember, even a gust of air can wipe these out! The fidelity difference will not be heard anyhow with all the noise in that environment. If you MUST get a ribbon like tweeter that is more robust, get a planar tweeter. I have some Daytons that I think are just fine (PT-2) and they are considered low end and were cheap enough at about $28 each. Hi-Vi and others make better ones in different sizes. They are not physically as deep mounting factor wise as ribbons.
