Hey does anyone if it is safe to run my two subs at a different impedance off of a mono sub amp? The subs are dual 4 ohms and I want to run one sub at 8 ohms and the other at 2 ohms to yield a 1.6 ohm load at the amp. Will one sub (the 2 ohm) one be getting more power from the amp or no?
The 8 ohm woofer would receive 1/4 the power of the 2 ohm woofer.
For example, if the amplifier can produce 45 volts across the speaker terminals, the 2 ohm speaker would receive 1000 watts. The 8 ohm speaker would receive 250 watts.
