Planet Audio amp

I just got what appears to be a nice deal on a JL audio Powerwedge box and 10W0 driver. It has a Planet Audio, PA-1002 amp attached. Sounds nice, especially in my son's small Mustang. Never heard of PA. Has a Hand made in USA plate on it. ANybody have any input on quality? No matter what, don't think I can go wrong for 29 bucks.

They're generally pretty good. Mine are older REM4300s (I use 2 for my 5.1 Dolby Digital in my car). I have been very happy with the clarity, low noise, and sound quality.

However, they are now affiliated with Boss Audio, who is generally a low-end car stereo importer/manufacturer.

So, generally I think you will be happy.

They also made (years ago) hybrid tube amps! Still a hot and rare item, very nice too.

Yeah, the older Planet Audio amps were nice, but they've turned to garbage because they were bought out much like (but to a more intense extent) PPI, Orion, a/d/s/ etc.
