I had a tube system in my car for over 6 years (4 12AX7s and 4 5881GC's) with absolutely no problems. Tubes have been used in rugged applications for quite a long time with a good track record. Soon enough I shall be putting another tube system in my car.

Some guys at headwize was using ECC86 and an inverter to get +- 12v,maybe that could be sommething?supply voltage is only +/-24V
