Hi all,
Back home Ive got a Chevy 1989 C 1500 pick up. In it is a factory Delco radio. Apparently in this vehicle the amp is seperate from the receiver because of a very small dash pocket where the radio sits. Needless to say after this many years it's no longer working properly. If I had to make a guess it's making the same sounds that a car radio makes when the ground path is poor, poping the speakers and other un fun noise. My best guess is the caps have dried out. The speakers have long since been changed, so that's not an issue. What I would like to buy or beg is a print with part values for this radio. So I can order in some parts for the day I rip it from the dash. I don't have a lot of home time before heading back here to finish out my contract. It would be a lot of work for me to relocate some of my ham radio gear if I were to put any new radio in the dash pocket, so fixing this one is the best choice. I would be willing to pay for a working used unit as well. Send me a note via the board if you can help. Thanks much Jack Crow tdy Camp Arifjan, Kuwait 38 more days till I get to go home, but who's counting? |
