I have a Volvo 242GT that im currently installing a stereo into.
I have installed fronts and rears (in risers) without any issue. Ill be putting a 12" sub into the side of the boot opposide the spare tire, and im a little concerned about the gas tank interfering with sound reaching the cabin. The gas tank is 10mm below the parcel shelf, and there is around 100mm either side of it. Is this going to cause me any sound problems? thanks for the help

You're putting the 12 where? Help a yank out here...
I'd guess it would: prob. absorb low end, if tank full and anywhere near it; firing into/away from passenger's??

Ok, i put it in, and it sounds fine, Little loss of volume because of tank and masonite seat backing. but nothing i can do about that.
The sub is facing across the boot at the spare tire. Tire one side, sub the other. |
