With the M455, I could take the 4 channels and run those fore and aft, V-berth & cockpit. Then I could preout for the main cabin another four channels, right?

Why seperates instead of coaxial?

yes you could run speakers of the m455 I prefer usuing an amp as no hu Ive heard has the power to suit my taste. The components are a personal preference (I think they are a little better than coaxials) but coaxials will work just fine also. As for the speakers in the salon and the v-birth I would just use speakers of your choosin.

Well, it's started. I bought a couple of those Aura amps on closeout. I guess the next issue is speakers.

What about using the forward bulkheads as baffles? The rear of those bulkheads are hanging lockers. Roughly, I guess their volume to be about 6 or 8 ft^3. your thoughts?

No sir, these are for the salon. This is the bulkhead that divides the v-berth from the main cabin. Both port and starboard sides of the bulkhead are framed out for hanging closets.

I have two options. The first is to turn the bulkhead, P & S, into a baffle for midwoofer & tweet. The other is to build an enclosure ~ like HT fronts. The boxed speaker would subtract from the asthetics of the furniture.

I sound like a wife... I wonder what she thinks of the 7' line arrays and Tuba 18's in the den???

The V-berth will also require an interesting solution... 3" or 4" drivers...

PS Thanks for your interest in this project... I'm baffled by the car audio stuff.

the hanging lockers would probably work ok (depending on the speaker) Most marine (or car audio) speakers would probably do well in this situation

Default For the boat people

Now what?

Purchase a pair of 6" component Focals.... the V2's. I will mount those facing aft into the main salon on the forward bulkhead.

I bought the Aura 4 channel 50w/c amp. I will run the Focals from two of the channels and bridge the other two channels for the sub.

So what for sub? The only suitable location (for a stealthy install) is in the settee facing midships. The speaker would be mounted a couple of inches above the cabin sole. There is about 5 or 6 cubic feet behind the face of the settee. It would be easy to seal the compartment. This location will accomedate a 10" driver.

I am looking at some of the subs that are suited to this size of sealed enclosure... Aurum Cantus AC-250F? Dayton RSS265HF? HiVi D10.8?

Should I be looking for a dual voice coil?
THANKS
