I posted this question somewhere else, but it got moved to PS design forum. I don't think it gets the trafic needed to get a quick answer. Anyway, the question is, can I paralell a switching 100W 12V power supply with a car battery to power a car amp that can draw more than 100W? Will it be safe for the power supply and the battery? Should I use some kind of diode circuit to prevent damage?

You probably could, but it all depends on how the PSU will cope with repeated overload stresses/shutdowns over a long period of time. Some might be fine, others not. Some PSU's will not go back on if one trigs the over current protection unless one resets it. A "simpler" unregulated charger will probably cope better with this and regulate it self better at over current situations.
