Default Nak CD Changer Pin out?? Anyone??

Anyone have the Nak CD Changer pinout? I have a MF-51 changer with the 13 pin plug.

Is the Nak system compatible with any other changer? I know that Kenwood has the same plug, but the + & - power are reversed. or at least thats what the info i have says.

Hey zero-cool

The Nak MF-51 is NOT interchangeable with other decks. You can use only a Nak Deck.

I want to use another Changer with a NAK Deck!!!

The Nak Changer wont Read CD-R's. I can get it to work if i lay it flat, but not if i stand it up on end as it is mounted in BMW's. I have tried everything. I think the laser is weak. i have tried several other Nak changers and had the same problem with CD-R's.

I was hoping to use a Kenwood changer. or anyones changer that would work. I know thr Kenwood changer doesnt have the same pinout as the Nak. but why couldnt i make my own cable??

Hi Zero Cool,
I was familiar with the Nak CD changers and even the earlier ones would play CDR's. Your changer needs repair and then it should be good as new. Big clue is it won't work unless flat.

They used to be based on Sony, even the Sony controller would work (had to buy one for the bench to test with). Is there a good shop near you?

Sorry I couldn't help more, but I haven't seen one for at least eight years.

There is a modifcation that needs to be done to make the changer do CD-R's. I have done it to mine. There are a few resistors that need to be changed.

There are some resistors that need to be changed, That make it eaiser to read CD-R's. I will have to dig around for a paper of which ones and values.

Hi Martin,
I'm just wondering if they are increasing the RF gain or changing the slice level.

I realy don't remember. I used to do the Nak warranty for Canada and it's been a while since I did one.
