Hi Martin,
I did Nak warranty also. We were the first shop opened by Nakamichi Canada in Ontario.

I don't recall there being a problem with CDR's, but that may have been after I sold my shop.

You can go here and download a picture of which resistors to change to get the MF51 to play CD-R's

Found this on google and its up from the dead. I just gor an MF-51 and would LOVE to play CD-R's though it.

I would also love to know if this modification is applicable to the MB-100.

Thanks guys!

The mod won't work for a MB-100. But it should play them , I think. Will have to check one.
Here is the MF-51 again

I appreciate the link again, but it doesnt seem to work for me. I get a 404 error.

I'd love the verification on the MB100 too. I've got it in the car, and it seems to be VERY very choosy.

wow, what a reference! thank you so much!

In the previous meantime, I found the thread that suggested I turn the changer upside down. Tried it and it worked exactly once. Never since.

I can't wait to try this out!

as to the MB-100, I would love the verification. I seem to have a 50/50 success rate with CD-r's, choosing based on Murphy's law the cd's I own the largest number of!

Other radios like the mac MX-406 will play anything under the sun. I want this nak to do that too!

I find It also depends on the type and quality of CD. I've had no problems with using CD-R 's. I have here at home 2 MF-51's, 2 MB-100's (4 for repairs/parts) and a CD-700 (2 for parts) and I don't need to be able to play MP3's. Turning it upside down may cause the pickup to over extend itself. DONT use a CD cleaner disk. Your asking for major upset.
