The reason for using a 1/3 octave eq is to attenuate or boost a particular frequency. The parametric eq usually can be configured for the particular freqs you wish to "enhance". Also with the parametric eq, usually you can adjust the Q to be very wide or very narrow.

Never heard the term "simulated inductor" but since a cap is theoretically the opposite of a capacitor, you attenuate the higher frequencies to ground via a cap instead of placing a choke in-line. Either way, a cap or inductor will add a phase-shift to your circuit.

know anything more(practical) bout simulated inductors.i read in details bout them in my 2nd year(final year elect. n comm. engg.).
but that was all theory with derivations etc.i need the practical day to day usage and performance info.any idea or link?

i didnt understand parametric equaliser.parametric amp was in syllabus too but i never bothered to read it then.any info bout it too.

see it if any improvements possible.

advise::
in your xover,r the opamps operating at unity gain????if its that then forget bout changing the ics bec NO IMPROVEMENT will b there.if the ics have gain,only then change.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
calculations
::::quads:unit price=Rs350 approx.for 15 its approx Rs5000=price of a good sony amp.but here,quads will cost 1/5 or less of what u pay.dunno y but its a pleasant reality

Did you go with the OPA's? They definately add that low-end that seems to get all muddied in the TL072s.

POST PICS. I want to see naked amplifiers!!!!

Looks good!!
For fun, you should get a couple AD823s and find out how they sound against the OPAs. Look at the data sheets and check out the specifications.

hey
the improvement in sound clarity has been great.the sound preamplification has more clarity and richer details to it that were surely lacking in 072's.

result is that the bases are more clear(withou para eq.).on conecting para eq. also,the result is simply awesome.heavy bass (thrrrrrrrrrrrr thrrrrrrrrrrr sound) o/p .the system will be integrated soon in my car.

will try out ad's also as u saying,but i dont think the difference will b much noticiable(opa is a gem!).

how bout your mod drive of 1/3 octave?

You might be suprised again.

My project has been on hold for a couple years. I modded all of my Tube Driver stuff with the AD823s. I have the Phase Audio crossover and that had 22 ops to replace. That dented my wallet. But for right now, I don't have a good car and any stereo that I could put in it would only make my car cost more. I have plenty of equipment, but nowhere to put them.
